Cyber Ecosystem Grants Round II

We’re thrilled to announce Round II of the Cyber Ecosystem Grants Program. This round allocates 25,000 CYBER tokens to innovative projects building dapps and developer tooling on Cyber.

Mark your calendars with these key dates so you don’t miss out on this round of grants:

  • June 27th, 2024: Applications for Round II open.
  • July 19th, 2024: Deadline for applications. Be sure to submit your completed application by 23:59 UTC.
  • July 20th - August 5th, 2024: The Grants Council will evaluate submissions, discuss and confirm milestones with applicants.
  • Early August: Grants winners are announced!

Applications for Round II are now open and will be accepted until July 19th at 23:59 UTC. We invite all builders to submit your applications starting today.

Recapping the Inaugural Round

Earlier this year, we launched the $2M Cyber Ecosystem Grants program. The pilot builder round began in April. By May, we committed $170,000 in CYBER tokens to 10 projects—$20,000 more than our initial pledge, demonstrating our dedication to fostering innovation on Cyber.

During the pilot round, a diverse range of projects was funded, including developer tools and user-facing dapps in areas like SocialFi and AI. All pilot round grant recipients are now active on Cyber Mainnet and actively contribute to the ecosystem. Users and developers can engage with them today.

Round II Grants Categories and Funding Details

Building on our past success, we are thrilled to continue our grants program. This builder round focuses on two main areas: social dapps and developer tooling. We’ve introduced two new types of grants (Startup and Growth) to suit the needs of projects at different stages of development. To be eligible for any grant, your project must have already deployed key features on Cyber Mainnet, or have plans to deploy them. You should be prepared to show measurable positive impacts on the Cyber ecosystem.

Social Dapps and Developer Tooling

Social Dapps: Projects that enhance digital connections and encourage meaningful engagement by integrating social features into onchain experiences. On Cyber, social dapps go beyond social networks. We believe that all consumer crypto applications have the potential to be social, whether they are games, trading platforms, content creation tools, or other user-facing applications. If your dapp includes features such as social networking, discovery feeds, comments, SocialFi, and more, we encourage you to apply.

Developer Tooling: Projects building tools that simplify development processes, enhance user experiences, and broaden web3 accessibility on Cyber. If you’re creating developer tools that make Cyber easier to use and build on, we invite you to submit an application.

Our grants accommodate a wide array of projects at various stages of development, ensuring diverse and innovative ideas can thrive on Cyber. In Round II, funding ranges from 200 to 8,000 CYBER tokens per project, based on the project's maturity and alignment with community goals. Keep in mind, all grants are milestone based. Therefore having measurable, outcome based goals is important for successful applications. 

Startup Grants and Growth Grants

Startup Grants: Ranging from 200-1,000 CYBER tokens, Startup Grants support early-stage projects needing initial backing to lay the groundwork for their ideas and get started on Cyber. We believe today's small-scale, experimental projects and individual developers can be the creators of tomorrow's leading applications and tools.

Growth Grants: Targeting projects that are ready to launch or have recently launched, Growth Grants range from 2,000 to 8,000 CYBER tokens. These are aimed at accelerating growth, supporting scaling efforts, and facilitating integration with Cyber. To qualify for Growth Grants, your project must be ready to immediately contribute to the Cyber ecosystem and have set milestones.

Our program does more than provide funding; it fosters a synergistic ecosystem and collaborative community. Grantees gain not just financial support, but also mentorship, networking opportunities, co-marketing, and more to help their projects grow on Cyber and within the larger Superchain ecosystem.

Crafting a Successful Application

To maximize your chances of success, focus on showcasing:

  • Team Expertise: Highlight your team’s skills and qualifications, demonstrating your ability to achieve project goals. Emphasize past achievements and relevant experiences, even if your project is at an early stage.

  • Project Viability: Clearly outline how your project addresses a specific need within the ecosystem and its potential impact. Use metrics to substantiate your project’s strength and viability. For dapps, make sure to clearly outline the onchain features that are going to be deployed on Cyber and the expected results down the roadmap.

  • SMART Milestones: Define your project milestones as Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound, setting realistic goals that align with the strategic direction of the Cyber ecosystem. For dapps applying for Growth Grants, be ready to contribute to the ecosystem with meaningful and measurable results such as transaction amount, active wallets, in a given timeframe, and set milestones accordingly. 

    • Specific - clearly define objectives, 
    • Measurable - include metrics (e.g., DAU, TVL, GitHub forks, etc.) 
    • Achievable - set realistic goals,

  • Relevant - align milestones with impact on the Cyber ecosystem, 

  • Time-bound - establish firm deadlines to track progress effectively.

As long as you submit before the application deadline, you will be able to make edits to your application even after the submission deadline. Be sure to enable email notifications, or check back on your application, so you can answer any questions the Grants Council may have.
